A putative hybrid between S. atrocinerea (or S. cinerea) and S. discolor. Alternatively, one may place this willow with S. aegyptiaca, though it is still not known for certain if the latter has been introduced to eastern Massachusetts. Since both S. discolor and S. atrocinerea complex occur in the immediate proximity, attribution to S. aegyptiaca is not enough justified. Observations at another season may help with more precise identification.
