Myles Standish State Forest, Plymouth

Notice the forking branchlets. Each shoot is terminated by
a stout bud. There is a green chunk of invasive Carolina fanwort floating on
top of bladderwort (at lower center). Such chunks are capable of rooting and
have already colonized much of EastHead Reservoir, displacing a few different
species of bladderworts and other water plants.
