So far this is only a curiosity in the reservation. It is hard to imagine Japanese maple becoming a problematic plant in Massachusetts, and yet this solitary plant is comfortably growing in the woods. Who knows what happens during the next 50-100 years... We already have difficult experience with many pretty garden species.
