Aggressive alien plant spreading in disturbed area of this town forest, goutweed produces two generations of leaves. Spring leaves are more compact, as they develop at the time when there is still plenty of light in the forest. Spring leaves contribute the most to the plant's sugar reserves kept in the rhizomes.
