Goutweed boasts a huge native range in Eurasia: it is widespread across most of Europe, West Siberia, and even East Siberia. It is introduced and naturalized in North America and Australia. Even within its native range it is often described as a weed. On the other hand, it's been cultivated (there are variegated cultivars).
