June 11,
Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Plain, Boston
Castor aralia was introduced to the US about 1865. Though it has not
yet been included on the Massachusetts Plant List, it will, unfortunately, make
it in the near future. This is one of the trees that the Arboretum has been
growing for a long time. The trees have become a source of notorious seedlings
that now appear everywhere on the territory.
