This species is perennial, with the largest flower heads among all introduced species: up to 5 cm in diameter in flower and the involucre that can surpass 2 cm in length. Further, this is one of the two introduced subspecies/varieties, the one with yellow glandular hairs on peduncles and phyllaries.
