Blue Hills Reservation, Canton
"A despised weed," as A. Gray calls it, common ragweed is
a highly polymorphic North American annual
10 cm to 2.5 m tall, an infamous invasive conqueror of southeastern
Europe. The bottom part of disturbed
(ski) slope of the Great Blue Hill is mostly covered with a dwarf form of
ragweed (the area is regularly mowed).
