At the road edge we can observe the soil profile of podzolic
type. (Bearberry covers the surface.) A vast illuvial dark
horizon goes down beyond the exposed part of the profile. On top of
it there is scarce light gray eluvial horizon typical for any podzol. From
there, soil elements are washed down into the underlying illuvial layer.
