May 12,
Mt. Greylock State Reservation, Williamstown
A small flower of pink twisted-stalk
is only 6-12 mm long. As in many other Liliales , indiscriminate sepals and petals form
a campanulate perianth, its segments recurving only at tips (in
the other, more rare Streptopus the segments are greenish and recurving entirely, right from base). Stem and pedicel
pubescence is noticeable.
