Three-Mile Brook, Taunton
A few trees, like this one, were found on a steep forested
river bank in Boyden Wildlife Refuge in 2010. All were rather
young (appearing not older than 40 years). It was hard to
imagine anyone planting Douglas fir in this small reservation in the near past,
so we assumed they were naturalized from an unknown source (perhaps
there had been older plantings).
