Among the American states, Massachusetts is perhaps the one where invasive plants have been developing and taking over for the longest time. Within Massachusetts territory, it is definitely the Boston area that has suffered most from the alien plant invasions. Of the entire Boston area, these are Boston Harbor Islands that have the longest and saddest history of human use and abuse. Each of the Islands is a perfect site for an invasive plant study.
