A fruiting plant. This meadow-rue is named "early" because it flowers and produces fruit two months earlier than the other species. Flowering is completed by the end of May, and ellipsoid subsessile achenes are already visible. Achenes are dispersed in June (while in T. pubescens they become ripe only in August).
