Young plants beginning to spread in coastal woodland composed of eastern red cedar. This blackberry may have leaves with either 3 pinnately arranged or 5 palmately arranged leaflets. Petals may be three-parted or entire, though entire petals are rare and may testify for hybridization with another species.
