A wide-spread introduced weed in eastern US, which is present in every Massachusetts county; photo taken in western MA. As many other weeds, it has been known mostly from disturbed habitats. However, this photo was taken in an old-growth rich forest, to where it has successfully penetrated and formed abundant clumps, thus demonstrating invasive behavior.
