Mt. Greylock State Reservation, Williamstown
Each flower is on a rather long and stout pedicel. Campanulate
five-parted white calyx is prominent in those flowers that
are not yet open. Corolla consists of five snow-white petals with claws.
Long, slender stamens add grace to the exquisite flowers.
Sparse hairs are conspicuous on the leaf blade surface in the background.
