This wooded territory that "has a rich history" (i.e., suffered repeated abuse by the human race) is now to a large extent a strange conglomerate of trees dominated by castor aralia and tree-of-heaven, which can be attributed--at least in part--to its close proximity to the Arnold Arboretum.
