Though we knew about a possibility of seeing it in bloom during the autumn months, it was really striking to find it flowering on the last day of September! This violet was found right on one of Myles Standish roads. Birdfoot violet is a plant of open, sunny habitats. It may grow on either clayey or sandy poor soil. Photo credit Luba Batuner
