Differs from two other ornamental amarants by its stiffly erect
inflorescence with wide branches. Sometimes escapes
from cultivation. Known from six Massachusetts counties. According
to R.Bertin & T.Rawinski (2012), has
not been found in Worcester County since 1886. Photo by Meg
