English ivy leaves are mostly longer than wide and generally smaller than leaves of Irish ivy and have on average shorter petioles. Ivies produce two types of leaves: juvenile and mature. Those lobed are juvenile. An ivy typically remains in the juvenile stage for many years and does not flower or fruit.
