This common weed of the Boston area
is sometimes called "Canada hawkweed," and yet it is
not native. This is actually a European plant, Savoy hawkweed,
which has been mistakenly called
Hieracium canadense . The true Hieracium canadense grows in Canada and does
not occur in Massachusetts.
