Proserpinaca palustris L.10 of 16
October 15, Weymouth Great Pond, Weymouth
mermaid-weed
While the bases of plants are usually
submersed in water, at least in spring, their tops
are gradually becoming more and more emersed. Entire plants
are often out of water by the end of the season, having
mostly "terrestrial" lanceolate leaves.
