These bluebells appear to be x variabilis: inflorescence not one-sided; flowers not pendent; tepals mostly not recurved (these characters match H. hispanica); however, stamens are of two different lengths (like in H. non-scripta). The hybrid bluebells has been recently known to be aggressively naturalizing--at least in some states. Collections depicting a probable recent advancement must not yet have been made in other states (see note in Flora of North America).
