Leaves and flowers considerably larger than in G. nivalis; leaves narrowly obovate (as opposed to linear in G. nivalis) and convolute (flat and parallel to each other in G. nivalis). There was the only solitary clump on the grounds that we managed to identify with G. elwesii.
