Known in the US since 1930's under a promising name 'mile-a-minute', this Chinese plant was found first in Pennsylvania, then in Maryland, West Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, and Virginia. Relatively recently it reached Connecticut and Rhode Island. Apparently it is now establishing itself in Massachusetts. At infested sites mile-a-minute completely covers and eliminates existing vegetation. Photo credit Luba Batuner
